This is a question commonly asked by almost all language learners.In my opion,I think you must make sure what you want to get from learning English.If you want to pass English exams of some level,then doing a  considerable number of the same level model papers is a good way to help you succeed in passing the exam.If you want to take English as a communicating tool,try  your best to listen,speak with native english people.At the same time,you should take every chance to learn to read original english materials such as English papers,magazines,or even some English text books.to learn to write frequently ,and keeping English dairies is an avai lible way .If you just take English as a hobby,then taste here and there and try your best to pick up some useful everyday English.
